Private Independent Day School for Boys 3 - 13 & Girls 3 - 7, Flexi-Boarding for Boys 8 - 13

We would be delighted to show you around our lovely school and introduce you to our staff and pupils.

There are two ways to visit the School: a private visit or an Open Morning.

First, you can come to a private visit on a day to suit you. The visit is arranged with our Registrar, Laura Kemp, who will welcome you and introduce you to the Headmaster, who will talk through the School and answer all of your questions. You will then have the opportunity to look around our school. Visits can be made either with your child or on your own.

Secondly, you are welcome to attend one of our Open Events (please find more details below) which are held frequently. We highly recommend attending so that you can see our school in action!

"I would definitely recommend the school to others"

We hold two Open Mornings each year. Prospective families are warmly invited for coffee and a chat with the Headmaster and key teachers. Our Year 8 boys will then provide individual tours of the School. Your children will have the chance to observe a lesson, meet pupils and teachers from their classes and ask any questions. Home-made refreshments are always on offer.

Our next Open Morning will be held on Tuesday 5th March 2024, 9.30 am - 12 noon. To register or find out more, please contact our Registrar, Laura Kemp, on 01865 242561 or email

Our 'Be a Chorister for the Afternoon' event has now passed. Parents who wish to enter their son for a choristership at CCCS should contact Laura Kemp, or call 01865 242561. Boys will be invited to sing a simple piece of music with our Director of Music, Sophie Biddell, sit an assessment on writing and mathematics and interview with the Headmaster.

Small class sizes and outstanding pastoral care mean that the boys can engage in a broad and balanced academic curriculum, in addition to singing in an internationally recognised choir.  Choristers rehearse every weekday morning and sing Evensong in the Cathedral six times a week. This busy schedule develops their musical skills and nurtures key skills such as leadership, teamwork and time management. Boys selected for choristerships have 60% of their school fees at CCCS paid by the Cathedral for the duration of their time as a Chorister.

Further information on choristerships is available here.
