Cathedral Choristers return from their US Tour

We are delighted to welcome back our Cathedral Choristers who have spent the last two weeks touring the USA. The School has felt a little quieter without them!
The choir performed a series of concerts across the East Coast, celebrating 500 years of music at Christ Church, and showcasing its rich history through pieces by John Tavener to our Composer in Residence, Nico Muhly.
Beginning the tour in Minneapolis, the choir then headed to Washington for a live Evensong at the Washington National Cathedral, before making their way to Harvard to perform a joint concert with St Paul's Choir where the boys enjoyed the applause and standing ovation - one of many during their tour!
The second part of the tour saw the choir in Princeton and then finally Carniege Hall, New York. These audiences were in for a treat, as they were the first enjoy the US premiere of 'The Shadow of the Sun' a new cantina by Nico Muhly.
In between the rehearsals, performances and standing ovations, the boys managed to squeeze in some sightseeing with trips to Times Square, the Lincoln Centre and the Empire State Building!
We are incredibly proud of our choristers, not only for their hard work, but also the way they carried themselves and represented both the choir and the school.
