Strings Day at Rugby School

Our senior strings players were invited to a brilliant day of workshops for advanced players at Rugby School on Thursday, culminating in an impressive performance in Rugby's famous Temple Speech Room.
The boys worked hard on sight-reading and technique, tackling challenging repertoire which included themes from Tchaikovsky's 'Swan Lake', and benefited by playing alongside Rugby's own musicians as well as their staff. The superb music teachers at Rugby are always so welcoming to our pupils, and we were especially grateful that they even lent us a harp on yesterday's trip!
Lastly, it was a real treat to be able to catch up with ex-CCCS violinist William K, who is doing very well as a Music Scholar at Rugby. What a superb day in a stellar senior school department!
