CCCS gets funky with the Brass Funkeys
CCCS welcomed the amazing Brass Funkeys to school last Friday! They ran an awesome workshop for the Jazz band, focussing on learning tunes by ear and improvisation. They then performed on the playground to the whole school, with infectious energy, marrying the vibrancy of New Orleans with pop and jazz!
Solos included the sousaphone (a tuba like instrument that can be played whilst marching), saxophone, trumpet, trombones and drums. The CCCS audience had some great moves and sound effects to add to the fun. Thank you Brass Funkeys – check out their album launch tour dates at www.brassfunkeys.com.
