Registration and Admissions

The three main entry points into the School are:

(i) The Nursery Department - for boys and girls who are 3 or “rising” 3 years of age;

(ii) The Reception Class – for boys who join the school in the September following their 4th birthday:

(iii) The Prep School – for boys who join the school in the September following their 7th birthday.

Applications are welcomed at any other entry point but would be subject to the availability of a space.

To apply for a place at the school, parents are asked to complete and return the school’s registration form.   From Reception age onwards boys are invited to visit the school to spend a part of a morning with the appropriate class for informal assessment.

Older boys are invited to spend a whole day with the appropriate class and will be assessed academically (in reading, writing, spelling and comprehension) on a one-to-one basis in a friendly and informal manner.

Four places are allocated to Cathedral Choristers who join the school, usually in Form 4.  These boys will be invited to school for a voice trial and academic assessment.

In all cases, a satisfactory reference from the previous school is required.

Applications for admission are usually dealt with by date of application order with priority given to siblings.
