DRAMA

Drama is about developing the confidence to express yourself, through your own words or those of others. It is incorporated into a range of subjects across the curriculum and is taught as a subject in its own right in Years 3 – 6.

Being in a play is one of the most memorable and formative experiences for a child. The highlight for Pre-Prep and Nursery is the Infant Nativity, which is set to music and ambitious in its scope - regularly tackling different languages and singing in parts.

Year 3 and 4 boys work together once a year to perform a musical, often one of the Roald Dahl stories, with songs and roles for all. Higher up the school, boys audition for parts in the main School Play - a much-anticipated event in Hilary term. All boys in Year 8 perform a play in French, and Summer Shakespeare (performing an abridged version of one of our greatest playwright’s works) is enjoyed by all.
