The UKMT Junior Mathematical Challenge 2021

Earlier last term, CCCS was one of 4,400 schools which took part in a nationwide competition aimed at Years 7 and 8. It is called the Junior Mathematical Challenge and it allows boys to see how their Maths ability compares with pupils in the rest of the country.

The following boys achieved a Bronze certificate, which is awarded to the

top 40% in the country:

Year 8 - Krish, Thomas, Alex, Luca, Yuvraj, Xander.

Year 7 - Abdullah, Aidan, James, Maurits.

The following boys achieved a Silver certificate, which is awarded to the

top 19% in the country:

Year 8 -  Freddie, Lanre.

Year 7 -  Ivan, Sebastian, Merlin.

The following boys achieved a Gold certificate, which is awarded to the

top 6% in the country.

Year 8 -  Dimitrios, Edward, Guven, Joseph.

Year 7 -  Henry, Alexander, Hyeongbin.

The Best in Year Group and Best in School awards were:

Best in Year 7 award went to Hyeongbin.

Best in School award went to Joseph.

Of the seven Gold award winners of the Junior Mathematics Challenge, six boys achieved high enough scores to go through to the Junior Kangaroo Challenge. This is achieved by only the top 4% in the country.

Joseph went through to the highly prestigious Junior Mathematics Olympiad final, achieved by only the top 1% of the country. Well done to all our boys!
