Two CCCS Brothers Cycle over 1000km for Environmental Charity
Posted on 10th Dec, 2020
Two Christ Church Cathedral School boys spent the Summer riding almost 500km each in aid of the School’s charity, A Rocha.
Over the course of 39 days, the boys made 29 expeditions on their bikes, averaging 11 miles or 17km. At the last count they had raised over £800 of the £1000 they are hoping to raise. It would be wonderful if they could reach their total by Christmas.
Below is the link to their Just Giving Page where donations can be made. It also includes a short video where the boys give details of the charity and of the expeditions they made. The brothers also reveal their top speed during the course of the rides (you will need to watch the video to find that one out!)
Richard Murray, the School’s Headmaster said: “I am delighted that Eren and Sener have taken it upon themselves to raise so much money for this outstanding charity, chosen by the School in memory of our former Science teacher Susanna Naylor. I cannot thank the boys enough for their initiative and for all their pedalling! Very many congratulations. This has certainly inspired me to get onto that saddle. 500km is a long way!”
