New Pavilion Construction Commences
Posted on 22nd Jul, 2021
Christ Church Cathedral School is delighted to announce that the construction of the new Pavilion & Outdoor Centre is due to commence in the coming weeks, with the completion currently scheduled for Hilary Term 2022 with an official opening ceremony to follow soon after.
The Pavilion, which was designed by Oxford's Montgomery Architects, will be a multi-purpose facility for sport, outdoor learning and social events. It will give the School the base from which to expand all these activities, and provide the opportunity for CCCS to host more home matches and tournaments and to host community outreach and charitable events, many involving other local schools.
Thanks to the generous donations from our Parents, Alumni and Friends, we have secured over £260,000 of our £850,000 target to date, and we look forward to attracting further support in the coming months. We are immensely grateful to everyone who has supported the Campaign so far.
To find out more about the project and how to support it, please visit the New Pavilion & Outdoor Centre section on our website, which, aside from a detailed overview of the project, features a downloadable version of the official brochure, as well as a fly-over video offering a 3D experience of the new building.
The School's Headmaster, Richard Murray, said: "The Pavilion will be a stunning new addition to one of the most architecturally rich landscapes in England. It will allow us to revolutionise the use of our playing fields and Woodland School, enabling us to offer our pupils so many more experiences in this incomparable environment. We also look forward to hosting pupils and parents from other schools and to holding regular charitable events. We are all very excited and wish to thank our kind donors for making it possible."
