Dimitrios Hailed as Best Under 10 Chess Player in Greece
Posted on 10th Nov, 2017

Dimitrios, who joined CCCS this term as a Cardinal Scholar, has been hailed as the best Under 10 chess player in Greece. Dimitrios, nine, secured his victory in the International Chess Competition in Apokoronas, Crete, after beating a 15-year-old in a four and a half hour match.
“It was worth the journey,” he said. “It was the most exciting match I’ve played in my life. I was losing at the start and it was going to be a draw. If my opponent had played one move it would have been a draw but he didn’t find it.” Dimitrios added that he was looking forward to representing Christ Church in competitions.
