Worcester Chorister Enhancement Fund

WC 500 x 300.jpgEvery year, Worcester Choristers, who are Christ Church Cathedral School's pupils, display the breadth of musical activity and diversity that the Choir has to offer across the UK and further afield. There have been recent concerts in St John's Smith Square and St Martin-in-the-Fields in London, and tours across Europe including Italy, France, Norway and Germany.

Performing outside Worcester College allows the Choir not only to enhance its international reputation and relationships, but also to engage in educational and social activities and deepen their understanding and appreciation of the world around them.

Touring is one of the more expensive activities that the Choir undertakes, with an estimated cost of £500 per Chorister, who takes part in the programme. The provision of additional funding thus plays a key part in the planning of the tour and ensures that all Choristers can benefit from this enriching experience and represent the Choir and the School in the UK and overseas.

In line with the School's development programme Thinking of Our Tomorrows, the School's long term objective is to build up an endowment fund of £250,000 that would cover the running cost of the programme in perpetuity. In the interim, the Worcester Chorister Enhancement Fund welcomes gifts of all sizes towards the touring programme's annual operating cost of £10,000.
