Data Protection

Christ Church Cathedral School seeks to maintain a lifelong association with all Members of the School’s Community. All data will be held securely in the School’s respective databases under the provisions of the 1998 Data Protection Act.

Data are collected during the course of Pupils, Parents, Old Boys and Friends’ relationship with the School and the Old Boys’ Association and may also be collected from other publicly available sources and third parties. Unless you have requested otherwise, the data will be used by the School, the Cathedral, the College, Worcester College Chapel and the Old Boys’ Association for educational, social and fundraising activities.

Data may be passed on to regional or overseas Old Boys’ network organisers for these purposes. Data may also be passed on to third party commercial organisations only when they are working on the School’s behalf, for example to process direct debit or credit card gifts. In these cases personal data will only be used for the specific task involved and will not be passed onto any further organisation in any circumstance. Any third party working on the School’s behalf must adhere to a strict confidentiality agreement. Tools may be used to monitor the effectiveness of our communications with our Community’s Members, including email tracking, which records when an e-mail from us is opened and/or how many links are clicked within the message.

By keeping the School up-to-date with our Members’ current contact details, the School can ensure that all Members are invited to the relevant events, including School and Choir reunions, and keep you informed of the School’s news. If you no longer wish to be contacted by Christ Church Cathedral School, or wish to alter the way your data are held and used, please contact us either by email or by telephone on 01865 242 561.
