Worcester College Choir Open Afternoon

Posted on 8th May, 2018

On Tuesday afternoon eight boys spent the afternoon at Worcester College gaining an insight into the life as a Chorister there.

Two Form 8 Worcester Choristers, Rhys and Will, told the boys about how much they had enjoyed their time in the Choir and how their experience had helped them to gain scholarships to their senior schools.

Thomas Allery, Director of Chapel Music, gave the boys and their parents a tour of the chapel and the newly refurbished dining hall before taking everyone into the beautiful, extensive gardens. After tea, the boys rehearsed with the Choir while their parents watched Worcester parent Dr Mundschenk’s slide show of the Choir’s recent tours to France and Italy. Finally, the boys put on surplices for Evensong, an uplifting experience in which they participated enthusiastically.

We hope very much that the boys will feel inspired to audition for the Choir. We are holding voice trials on the morning of Thursday 17th May. To register please contact Mrs Clare James at registrar@cccs.org.uk
