- Choir Tour Report by Harry, Form 8
I had no idea what to expect when we met up at Gatwick, yet I was very excited. When we arrived in Italy we went straight to the convent where we were staying. The convent was really nice with great dorms and rooms. It also had a volleyball court; we spent a lot of our free time there having tremendous fun.
The concerts were really amazing and were all a great experience. We sang in the Basilica in Imperia which was an amazing big building to sing in with great acoustics.
We also had a concert up in the hills in a pretty church with a great view. The concert we had outdoors in a park in Bordighera was a cool experience and great fun because there was a proper stage and lighting. Despite the tragic events on the 14th of July we decided to continue with the concert in Nice. This was very moving because it was to show our respect for the people who have been involved with the attack.
As well as doing many late night concerts (which started at nine and went on for about an hour) we still had time to go to the beach. Going together was fun because we were all with our friends and we were having a great time. Besides going to the beach we also went to see some caves in the mountains. Another amazing thing we did was to sing in the caves and in the square at Nice. It was a sort of flash-mob and created an audience.
When it was time to leave we were all quite sad but it had been amazing. I would like to thank all the parents who have helped make this tour possible, especially Susanne, who organised everything. I would also like to thank the organ scholars and Mr Allery for a great year of singing.
