Real Tennis Club

Posted on 27th Sep, 2019

For the last few years we have run a very successful Real Tennis Club on Monday afternoons between 4.30 pm and 5.30 pm.  On the strength of it, last year, two of our boys became national champions for their age group – one of whom also had the honour of playing against His Royal Highness The Earl of Wessex.

Real Tennis is a fascinating game, with each court being unique. It was the game favoured by our founder, King Henry VIII, and indeed he was playing the game when news was brought to him that Anne Boleyn, his second wife, had been executed upon his orders.  There are only about 40 courts in the world, though two of them are within five miles of CCCS.
