Heinrich and Kamil won silver medals in the Primary Mathematics Challenge with their very impressive marks in the final.
Last term we announced in the Newsletter how well the pupils in Years 5 and 6 had done in the Primary Mathematics Challenge - the national maths competition for Primary school aged children. It was also mentioned that Kamil and Heinrich who scored top marks in the School would be considered for entry into the national final round.
Well, they did indeed qualify and they took part in the final round earlier this term. In qualifying for the final round, (being one of 1900 out of 63000) this put them in the top 3 % nationwide.
In Monday’s assembly the results of this final round were announced by the Head of Maths, Mr Bagnall with the Head Master giving out the medals and certificates:
Both Kamil and Heinrich received a Silver medal with a Silver Award Winner certificate for their very impressive marks in the final which put them in the top 824 of the original 63000 who took part, (raising them into the top 1.3% nationwide)
Very well done to both boys with what was a really excellent achievement.
