National Children's Orchestra

Posted on February 9, 2012

F5 violinist Quinn has recently attended his first rehearsal with the regional division of the National Children’s Orchestra. He says:

“160 people came together to rehearse at Wellington College in January. The conductor was Roger Clarkson, who was quite nice and really funny. It was magical how it sounded. When you think of one section of the orchestra it doesn’t seem that good, but when it all comes together you can’t imagine how it happens! We played ‘Little Suite’ by Malcolm Arnold and ‘Short and Suite’ by Matthew Curtis, but my favourite piece was the ‘Theme’ from Lord of the Rings. I met lots of new people who were really nice, and I am looking forward to the next rehearsals in February.”
