House Music Competition

Posted on May 29, 2012

It's amazing how quickly the House Music Competition seems to come around each year. 2012's competition on Saturday added a new twist: the setting had changed to St Peter's College Chapel, which all agreed was a lovely building with a very kind acoustic. The boys particularly enjoyed playing on the Bluthner grand piano, and the fine weather made the short walk from school to St Peter's a pleasure.

Adjudicator Mark Shepherd (Director of Music, Charterhouse) had some tough decisions to make. He was impressed not only by the boys' technical accomplishments, but also their confidence, their camaraderie, and what he referred to as the 'house style' of great musicality. Every pupil in the school contributes to the Music Competition, so this is enormously encouraging for all CCCS boys!
