Form 6 arrived at School on a cold Tuesday morning and set off on their journey to London, on the way taking in wonderful sights such as Big Ben. The purpose of the visit was to see the Globe Theatre, and to participate in a rehearsal of Macbeth .

On arrival the first thing they noticed was the open air stage, and a roof made of thatch with the walls built from wattle and daub. A flag was raised above the building which showed people that a play was about to be performed. When everyone entered the auditorium Julius Caesar was being rehearsed and the actors were speaking in Italian. The stage was large with trap doors and the walls had some beautifully painted murals. The next activity was to participate in a workshop centred around Macbeth. The boys acted out the rôles of the three witches and chanted the well known lines, "When shall we three meet again, In thunder, lightning or in rain?"

It was a fascinating visit with lots to see, and after all was finished everyone went to the gift shop to get souvenirs of our enjoyable trip. A very big thank you to all the drivers but especially to Mr. Blundy and Mrs. Scotney-Jones for organising the trip!
