To be a chorister at one of England’s
magnificent cathedrals or college chapels is an unforgettable experience
and is possibly the finest musical training a young boy can have.
Apart from regular Cathedral services, the Cathedral Choir has a busy
programme of concerts, TV and recording both in the UK and abroad
and this has led to the Choir’s recognition throughout the world
for its excellence.
The boarding community of Cathedral Choristers
lies at the heart of the school and great care is taken to ensure
that they receive a balanced education. They receive a substantial
bursary (currently 60% of the full boarding fee) plus free music lessons
on one instrument. Significantly, they will in all probability do
the same at their chosen senior school - Christ Church’s record
of success in gaining music awards is second to none.
Worcester College Choristers are day-boys
and sing two services each week during college terms; they also receive
a small reduction in fees for their contribution.
Voice Trials for either choir are available
by arrangement as well as at regular audition-times in the year and
application should be made to the school for details.
