Parents of Nursery children who are at school on Friday afternoon, do bring them along to join in the fun! Form 2 parents will find their boys in the Hall from 1430. If you are unable to come to the sale, please provide your child with a (named) purse and some money so that they staff can help them spend it.

Music matters
I am pleased to be able to report a fine set of results in the last session of Associated Board examinations. In the theory examinations all eight candidates passed comfortably with FS, TP, TA-J, WS and GB achieving over 80% (merit pass) and HC achieving 92% (distinction pass).
In the practical examinations we entered eight candidates. HK and GB passed with distinction and WS, M de W, AS, TP and JB passed with merit.
I would like to congratulate all the boys and extend my thanks to the music staff, who continue to provide excellent tuition to enable us to achieve these results.
To conclude, I would also like to congratulate RH (Form 4) on being selected to play with the National Children’s Orchestra.

Colts B 9 v Pinewood L 2-6
On such a cold afternoon the strong support from parents was greatly appreciated by all and in return they received a match of end-to-end football that was far more entertaining than the score line might suggest.
From the start Christ Church put together some excellent moves with at times some sublime touches that shocked the opposition and allowed LB to set up JF with his first goal of the season. Unfortunately this ‘shock’ motivated Pinewood rather too much and despite some confident keeping from TN, assisted by a strong and often fearless mid-field and back line, the game slipped away from us. Nevertheless, the boys maintained their enthusiasm right to the last with JF pushing home another just before the final whistle.
Plans for the all-seater grandstand are still in their infancy but in the meantime all support is greatly welcome. JW
Pinewood Colts A 1 CCCS colts A 3 (Platt, Smith, De Weck)
Going to Pinewood might be described as like going to Anfield in the nineteen seventies. However, reputations hold no terrors for this very positive colts team. We started brightly showing good individual skills and some neat interpassing. This was allied to some solid work in defence and midfield where everyone worked hard. Eventually we cracked the Pinewood defence when TP skipped neatly through and beat the goalkeeper comfortably to go in to half time with a slender lead. Our second goal, from WS, came as a result of some sound attacking. At this point we came under some pressure and Pinewood scored when the defence had a serious lapse in concentration and lost their shape. As the game wore on we came on strongly again and scored a late goal to clinch victory. “Outthought, outworked and outplayed” was the verdict of the Pinewood coach.
We won this game because we worked hard, showed good individual skills and fought hard. One crucial difference in the sides was our ability to head the ball well which on so many occasions kept Pinewood under pressure- of special note here were FK, TP and FS. Well done!! PW
